The 2018 Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance is more than a car show. It is a fundraiser benefiting Thorncroft Equestrian Center and an international exhibition of classic cars and motorcycles. All the cars and motorcycles you will see are invited to participate in the concours by the respective Concours Selection Committee to be part of a featured class such as a specific car or motorcycle marque. Historic, classic, race and antique vehicles of all eras complete the showfield of approximately150 cars and motorcycles. Another unique feature of our event is the display of horse-drawn coaches and carriages, as well as a performance by our very own Radnor Hunt Fox Hounds. Each year, the event attracts over 4,000 attendees to the rolling countryside of Malvern. We also feature a New Car Automotive Paddock to see the latest makes and models. You can even bring your own car to be part of MotorSport Park with car club style parking.
Today, the Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance is in its twenty-first year. It was started with a group of friends and about 35 cars, and has evolved into a three-day event that incorporates a variety of activities. It begins with the Friday Night BBQ at Radnor Hunt. The following morning is the Chester County Road Rally and a Cars and Coffee gathering. Saturday evening features the Black-Tie Gala and Art Show Preview, with dinner and dancing. Sunday is MotorSport Park (our car club gathering area), the Silent Auction, The Marketplace featuring food, clothing and lifestyle vendor tents, and of course, the concours d'elegance. Awards are given for Best of Show, Peoples’ Choice, Best in Class and many more.
The 2018 event will showcase the iconic British marques of Rolls Royce and Bentley, one catering to pure luxury and elegance while the other appeals to the sporting side of driving. European Style/American Power will feature those cars of the second half of the 20th Century that used traditional American engines in a non-traditional way; in a European styled body. Fastbacks round out the always exciting show field of cars, which can be anything from a 1948 Cadillac Coupe to a Ferrari GTB. In addition to the wonderful four wheeled vehicles Radnor Concours also features motorcycles this year from the iconic American motorcycle maker, Indian, the power and style of Italian Motorcycles of the mid to late 20th Century and the raw performance of Superbikes that set lap records and hearts beating faster.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Thorncroft Equestrian Center in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The Thorncroft Equestrian Center is committed to a mainstreaming approach for teaching horseback riding and promoting the development of new and independent therapeutic riding programs, particularly for those with special needs its a wonderful cause http://thorncroft.org
