About the Artist
Genevieve Snyder
Genevieve Snyder was born and raised in Chester County, where she and her husband Eric still reside. From childhood she found joy in painting and drawing. Graduating with a degree in Communications and Design, Genevieve went on to work in television set design. While working in that industry she continued to explore painting just for fun, but eventually the hobby consumed her. In 2005, she left TV to pursue a career as a fine artist and hasn’t looked back. Since that time, her award winning paintings have been on display at juried shows and invitationals. Her work has been used for cards, posters, magazine covers and a calendar.
When not working on commission pieces, Genevieve finds inspiration in the relationship between man, animal and nature. This curiosity has led to a large body of work focused on sporting art, primarily fox hunting. It should be noted that her work is not exclusively in this genre, and she willingly explores any subject that catches her eye. A clue to this variable nature can be found on a scrap of paper taped to her studio wall:
“It’s not what you
look at that matters,
it’s what you see”
– Henry David Thoreau
